Let It Be Records, RIP

This past summer saw the passing of Let It Be, one of the Twin Cities' finest record stores. I remember first visiting Let It Be in 1987 at its Loring Park location, and then at its final home on Nicollet Mall, which I frequented often. Let It Be was a great store for new vinyl, and I purchased plenty. In 1988 Let It Be became one of the first stores to consign my band's music, which was an enormous deal to me at the time. The store's owner, Ryan Cameron, plans to continue operating Let It Be as an internet-only shop (letitbe.com) . The store's historic building on Nicollet (shown here in a pic I took last week) is expected to be developed into a 46-story condo tower. Yeah, not impressed. Let It Be is sorely missed.
