On my turntable: Silver Sunshine

The self-titled Silver Sunshine (2004) is one of the LPs I picked up last weekend in Louisville, at a shop called the Book and Music Exchange. I know very little about this band, but the sticker on the front cover describes the band's music as "An explosion of color and sound for the senses". When I read this I was of course intrigued, since this sort of thing is my bag, baby. So I took a chance on the album, and I'm glad I did because it's very good.

So I'm thinking "great - a new band for me to like!" Yes and no. Turns out that the band, who are from San Diego, had some recent personnel changes, and then changed their name to Astra (www.astratheband.com). Hmm. May be worth checking out, but for now I'll be content with this groovy little collection.
