Gays already have equal marriage rights?

A lot of Christianists insist that gays already have equal marriage rights. Have you heard this argument? What they mean by "equal marriage rights" is that gay people have the same right as straight people to marry someone of the opposite sex. OK, quickly, let me get this out of the way:

That is fucking ridiculous.

As hard as these people might try to "pray the gay away", you just can't. And also, why would we WANT to get rid of our gayness? It's part of who we are. This is no less offensive (or ludicrous) than saying "Pray the black away" or "pray the blondness away". Gay people are naturally drawn to people of the same sex. It's not rocket science, and it's not something you can force out of people. Unfortunately, these are the same people who refuse to believe in evolution, despite scientific proof. They are walking case studies, I swear.
