In today's Fancy news: Federal Court rules DOMA to be Unconstitutional!!

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
-The 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

Believers in equality and truth knew that this day would eventually come.  As one of those believers I must say I was a little blindsided by the news!  In an absolutely historic ruling today, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was officially deemed unconstitutional in Federal Court.  In short, it was determined that DOMA, passed in 1996 to define marriage federally as between one man and one woman, interferes with the rights of individual states to define marriage as they see fit.

For example: Massachusetts has been marrying gay and lesbian couples since 2004, but because of DOMA restrictions, these married same-sex couples are in a different class when it comes to things like taxes and social security. This is, according to the courts, a violation of both the 10th Amendment and this country's principles on equal protection.
